The Pin Puller
Every man - of course that means every man like me - is looking for a woman that something about her face and the way she looks at me is all it takes and without a second thought, I will die completely fulfilled by diving on the grenade that landed near us.
Generally we will also have this for our daughters. It's biological. It's chemical. It's pure, let me die for you kind of love. Beyond the aforementioned it is biological and it's why women should probably not serve in combat. Men, especially those prone to US military service are really high on the scale of protectors of women and will favor them over their male counterparts long before presented with the necessity or propriety of diving on a grenade. Yeah - I know this is contrary to the sexist stereotype, but I served in a detachment in Thailand in 1989 where there were 24 of us and 1 of her and even though she was married if she'd been on our right and dude on our left and two rounds were coming down-range, one to the right and one on the left......we'd have all swiped right.
Now that I am "no un joven gringo" and have daughters and the experience of lengthy relationships with women, I give young men and take my own advice. Don't be fooled by a woman with the face of Ave Maria she may be the devil in disguise
